ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that begins at a young age. About 4% of Americans older than 18 experience ADHD behaviors regularly, and many have never been diagnosed. Women in particular, often do not get diagnosed until their late 30's or early 40's.
To diagnose attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), I use the standardized set of criteria from the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical manual, a clinical assessment and interview, as well as T.O.V.A. testing. I accept some insurances for this diagnostic assessment; otherwise the out of pocket fee is $150.
I offer evidence based Behavior Therapy to help clients develop healthy habits and meaningful strategies to lessen the negative impacts of ADHD. I also help clients process the shame often experienced by people with ADHD and reframe their understanding of an ADHD diagnosis to include curiosity, creativity and energy.
